New Elevator Pump Packages

May 19, 2010

DELAVAN, WI — May 19, 2010 — Pentair Flow Technologies is pleased to announce the Myers® EPP Series™ elevator pump package. This combination of Myers 1/3 or ½ HP sump/effluent pump with PENTEK® control system (control panel, alarm, and sensor) complies with ASME 17.1 Safety Code for elevators and escalators. It is approved for applications where water is removed but oil & other hydrocarbons must not be discharged. The Myers EPP Series is a complete, fully-integrated and packaged system. The control unit monitors water and oil levels; pumping out water without discharging oil & other hydrocarbons. The system alerts to high levels of oil and water, and will shut down the pump before discharging harmful substances.

Protection From Oil and Hydrocarbon Discharge

"This system allows companies with elevator sump pits, transformer vaults, or substations to comply with American Society of Mechanical Engineers code that prohibits the release of oil and hydrocarbons into the environment" said Jeff Ambrose, Product Manager for Pentair Flow Technologies. "Compliance to this code is essential in avoiding fines and damaging our environment, and the Myers EPP Series provides complete protection". According to Ambrose, the System’s benefits include:

  • Advanced Control Panel – Separate pump and control circuits for redundant protection, NEMA 1 enclosure, can be integrated into preexisting building communications systems
  • Easy Installation – Quick plug-in, one pre-set sensor, no field adjustment needed
  • Remote Alarm Panel – Allows convenient external mounting, provides both audible and visual alarm notification, 9v DC battery back-up
  • Multiple Indicator Lights – Removes guess work; clearly identifies high water, high oil, pump run and power on

The Myers EPP Series allows for your choice from two Myers ½ HP sump/effluent pumps (ME50S-11, ME45MC-11) and one Myers 1/3 HP sump/effluent pump (SSM33IM1C), each with its own targeted performance profile. The Myers EPP Series is available through a network of more than 5,000 authorized dealers throughout North America.
